About event
Program: Mozart, Schumann, Smetana, Dvořák
🇨🇿 The opening concert of the 14th Rudolph Firkušný Piano Festival will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, where Yevgeny Kissin and Sir András Schiff will sit together on the same stage at the pianos. The festive evening in the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum will open with the Sonata for two pianos in D major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This will be followed by two beautiful, yet rarely performed works by the German romantic Robert Schumann – Andante and Variations in B major for two pianos and Pictures from the East for piano four hands, inspired by translations of Arabic poetry from the pen of the poet Friedrich Rückert. The second half will be illuminated by Bedřich Smetana's beloved Vltava and the concert will culminate with a performance of Antonín Dvořák's Slavic Dances.
