We invite you to an exceptional exhibition of craftsmanship 🔹 Simply masters 🔹
Masters and masters of folk art production are the bearers of traditions, values and lifestyles that are passed down from generation to generation. ÚĽUV has been honoring them since 1959 and now brings you a unique exhibition of the works of those who received the award in the years 2011-2024.
The aim of the exhibition is to highlight their skills and qualities when working with the material, as well as the exceptionality and original rendering of the products. The priority of the curatorial tandem is to highlight each individual.
The message that exhibition curators Eva Ševčíková and Dominika Žažová address to the general public is clear: "We can boldly say that masters and masters of folk art production are the successors not only of traditional craft, but also of a way of life. Although no longer in a material form, but rather in a spiritual dimension - their attitude to life, the qualities that guide them in life and that have adorned our ancestors for centuries. Above all, it is independence, respect for the surrounding life, responsibility for the future, an inclination towards locality and sustainability, and often also humility, but at the same time healthy self-confidence, which naturally flows from one's own creative satisfaction, from penetrating into the depth of things and their understanding."
