About event
The Orfanik Orchestra of bandleader and keyboardist Jakub Zitko with singers Aneta Langerová and Dorota Barová invite you to a dream world of top music, where postmodern jazz, electronics and alternative rock combine.
Jakub Zitko combines postmodern jazz, electronics, rock, alternative and novel musical procedures and textures in his music. He works with sound-colored surfaces, electronic sounds and samples, which organically complete the atmosphere of the compositions, or become the bearers of their meaningful component. The melodies are atypical and the harmonies dense, often transcending the usual categories of jazz. The music is full of emotions - energy, melancholy, psychedelia and, last but not least, humor. All this was already manifested in his compositions for the bands Muff and NUO. Now these musical ingredients are transferred to new instrumentation with wind instruments and promise original music – composed and improvised, full of surprising twists in dynamics and form.
Jakub Zitko – keys; Jiří Šimek – g; Miloš Klápště – b; Daniel Šoltis – PhD; Martin Kopřiva – PhD; Miroslav Hloucal – trp, Petr Kalfus – sax; Štěpán Janoušek – trb.
Aneta Langerová & Dorota Barová – voc.
