Eddy grew up in a poor working-class family in the north of France, in an environment full of humiliation, homophobia and everyday harshness. As an adult, he left, changed his name and published his story. And with that, he not only changed his own life, but also the life of his mother. But at what cost, when their privacy is now known to the whole world?
Theatrical adaptation loosely connects three novels by Édouard Louis – How to Become Different, The Struggles and Transformations of One Woman and Monique on the Run. At the center of the production is not only personal emancipation, but also the question of what happens when an intimate experience turns into a public statement.
