About event
Jean-Martin Fortier - a Canadian farmer, author of the book The Market Gardener and one of the most prominent personalities of modern organic farming, is coming to the Czech Republic.
We invite you to a conference on market gardening, small farms, healthy soil and the future of local agriculture.
How can a small farm function as a professional, ecological and economically viable business?
Market gardening is a system of intensive ecological cultivation of vegetables and flowers on a small scale area. It stands for well-thought-out planning, healthy soil, efficient organization of work and direct relationship with customers.
The conference will bring together farmers, students, practitioners and everyone who believes that small farms can have a great future in the countryside.
In the program you will hear, for example:
• keynote lecture by JM Fortier: How to grow big dreams on a small farm
• lecture by Ladislav Miko about living soil and management in landscape
• stories of successful market gardening farms from Europe
• panel debate of farmers from Central Europe
• space for meeting, sharing experiences and establishing cooperation
