About event
The intersectional women's iftar brings Muslim and non-Muslim women together to find themselves beyond to get to know categories, learn from each other and set an example for cohesion and sisterhood.
The evening combines two special occasions: International Women's Day, which stands for equality, solidarity and empowerment of women, and the time of fasting. In many religious traditions, fasting is a time for reflection, mindfulness and inner strengthening. In this atmosphere, we would like to bring women from different realities of life together and create space for encounters and networking.
The program begins promptly at 5:30 p.m. with a welcome and two short substantive impulses on the topics of Fasting as a unifying practice and Self-determination of women. At 6:09 p.m. we break the fast together and thus open the shared part of the evening: a diverse, oriental iftar buffet, conversations and exchanges in a warm, festive Ramadan atmosphere.
The women's iftar sees itself as a space of openness, mutual respect and solidarity - regardless of religion, origin or path of life. Together we would like to make visible how much strength arises when women meet, listen and strengthen each other.
