Hygiena, epidémie a liečiteľstvo | Prešporské pondelky

The lecture describes the history of diseases and epidemics that shaped the lives of people in today's Slovakia and in Europe - from the Black Death, typhus, to smallpox, the Spanish flu and other historical disasters and their treatment methods.
The lecture also includes an overview of the development of hygiene, from medieval practices of personal cleanliness and public baths, through the introduction of sanitary measures, quarantine and vaccination.
The lecture combines historical facts, everyday practices and the social impact of epidemics so that visitors understand how diseases affected people's lives and historical events.

Prešporské Mondays - a cycle of ten thematic lectures focuses not only on major historical events and famous personalities, but also on less visible stories of streets, squares, crafts, church orders or minorities that shaped the face Presporka. Lectures are given in an understandable and engaging way, supplemented with contemporary interesting facts, contexts and stories.
Prešporské Mondays are intended for all those interested in the history of the city - for laymen and enthusiasts who want to get to know Bratislava more deeply, in a wider context and with an emphasis on its unique character.

You will be guided through the topics by Peter Fiala, a guide of Bratislava Wanderings and the series Date with the City BKIS, a member of the Association of Bratislava Guides.
