Hudobníčky v Bratislave a prezentácia knihy o živote Fanny Kováts Spenederovej

Lecture: Zuzana Godárová

The lecture will include the presentation of our new Bratislava fairy tale called Fanny, the golden nightingale of Prešporka, about the famous singer from Prešporka.

The book was published last year in Hungarian, the Slovak text was taken care of by the translator Jitka Rožňová.

The book will be brought to life by Astrid Rajterová, daughter of the legendary conductor Professor Ľudovít Rajter, together with its author, writer Anikó N. Tóth, and lecturer, Zuzana Godárová.

Our town was known for its tradition of home music making, while singing and playing the piano were mandatory equipment for girls in both noble and middle-class families. However, female musicians were rarely able to perform their art professionally, with the exception of opera singers. They mostly played or sang at house parties, worked as music teachers or ran music salons.

We will remember some female musicians from Bratislava, but also foreign artists who came to Prešpork to demonstrate their art. We will especially mention pianists and singers, but also ladies who also composed music. To varying degrees, they were able to combine their musical careers with the role of loving and supportive wives and mothers, or they dedicated their lives only to art.

Entrance is free!!!!!!!
