Hrobnický workshop na Ďáblickém hřbitově

What does the myth-bound job of a gravedigger entail? At this workshop, Adam Vokáč, gravedigger and administrator of Luční hřbité in Ďáblice, will introduce the participants to various aspects of this profession. Participants will learn information regarding the typology of graves, the legal framework and current methods of burial in our country. At the same time, they will experience digging a grave and lowering a coffin firsthand. Adam Vokáč is ready to answer all curious questions about the topic of burial, including current trends in the Czech Republic and the world.

Each participant will receive written material summarizing the most important findings and an official certificate of participation. The duration of the workshop is approximately 3.5 hours, light refreshments will be provided. Participation is conditional on signing an informed consent. Participants are advised to wear sturdy ankle boots and sufficiently warm sports/work clothes, or gloves.

In case of bad weather, the organizer reserves the right to postpone the date.
