About event
🎬 Screening of films connected with a discussion
Continuation of the film screening of the HoryZonty festival. You can look forward to a discussion with Trenčín cyclist Stan Horvát, and we will add three quality biker films to that. Come and get inspired - we'll really spin it!
Guest of the evening:
👤Stano Crovát
Stano Crovát is a cyclist from Trenčín, whom you can regularly meet in the morning hours, wandering around the mountains and roads of the Trenčín region. Stano has been making fables for about 15 years. He was mainly fascinated by mountain biking and, in recent years, gravel. You can often find it in the Považské Inovec mountains. Sometimes he shoots a marathon, but basically he doesn't go according to the training plan. If he goes racing somewhere, he always only takes the longest route they offer. This is his principle, which he has not yet broken. 💪
He likes long trips, which taste best right at the end. Several times he completed the legendary race on Spiš, the Spišské 333 EXTREME, but also the popular Czech ultra race 400 Ultra. For many years he worked manually in a construction company, where "fortunately" he destroyed his back, and this forced him to leave the security and try to do what he enjoys and what he knows best. Thanks to his work at Cykloshop.sk, he now fulfills his dreams, tests equipment and bicycles, but also advises people on choosing their dream bicycle or professional equipment. Thanks to his work, he also records his greatest cycling experiences on YouTube and will talk to us about his experiences and attitude towards cycling itself.
🎞️Film screening:
🎬 Flow
Director: Andy McCandlish / UK / 2023 / 11 minutes /
Flow follows two brothers from the Dyfi Valley in mid-Wales who are quickly building a name for themselves on the British MTB scene. Together with their mother, they reveal their strong family story and the journey from their first rides to racing. The film shows mountain biking as a path to balance, freedom and self-discovery. Autism is not a limit here, but a unique way of perceiving the world, which gives driving a new dimension. 🏆 The film won the prize for the best short film at the HoryZonty 2025 festival.
🎬 The Patagonia of Asia / Patagónia Ázie
Director: Gerhard Czerner / GER / 2025 / 24 minutes /
In the remote southwest of Kyrgyzstan, in the mountains near the border with Tajikistan, a trio of adventurers sets off to a region where almost no one sets foot. With local guides and animals, they cross wild valleys, push bikes through snowstorms and sleep in shepherds' huts in the middle of nowhere. Every kilometer in a rough natural paradise, where few people visit, is uncertain, demanding and pioneering. After seven days, they return exhausted, but with unique images and a story of a real adventure. 🌍✨
🎬Trailblazing: The Matt Hadley Story/ Pioneer: The story of Matt Hadley
Director: Kim Logan / CAN / 2025 / 27 minutes /
After an accident that turns his life upside down, elite athlete Matt Hadley faces the most difficult challenge of his career and identity. As a disabled person, he embarks on a powerful journey to rediscover adventure, meaning and new possibilities. This award-winning film is a story of courage, perseverance, unbreakable will, but also creativity. It shows that the greatest adventures take place inside us.
🏆 The film won the prize for the best outdoor film at the HoryZonty 2025 festival.
✨ We are looking forward to an evening together!
✨ Ticket price: €5 in advance, €8 on the spot
