We will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the unveiling of the Žižkov monument to Winston Churchill in November.
The author of the statue, the prominent British sculptor Ivor Roberts-Jones, was determined to create a completely new statue for Prague, not just a cast of the one from the London Parliament. Unfortunately, he only managed to get the statesman's head before his death. So what kind of statue stands on Žižkov square? And where is the bust of the original statue? You will learn all this in the next part of the popular cycle prepared by art historian Markéta Svobodová.
🗣 The guest of honor will be Mr. Milan Jakobec, a former diplomat of the embassy in London, who will personally recall the entire event connected with this monument.
