Respect Festival presents: Himalayan Singing Bowls
A sound that will bring you to silence
Two Nepali instructors of working with healing tones, Kamal Dhakal and Raj Kumar Gurung, invite you to a unique sound bath experience. You will be surrounded by the sounds of bowls, gongs and carillons. The vibrations of the handmade Nepalese bowls permeate the entire body, releasing blocks and inducing a state of deep meditation, while the sound of the singing bowls gently invites your mind on its journey. Himalayan singing bowls are renowned for their therapeutic healing effects such as stress reduction, relaxation, improved concentration, improved sleep quality and even reduced pain perception. Kamal and Raj refer to the ancient singing and vibrating bowls as "mothers" who bring us the sacred feminine energy. Their musical frequencies and vibrations connect our body with the sounds of the universe and other heavenly bodies.
A small studio called Nirvana Singing Bowls, located by the lake in beautiful Pokhara, will be transferred to Puncta for a few days. On a clear day, you can see the Annapurna mountain range from their studio window. The vast Himalayan peaks remind us how tiny our footprints are, how ephemeral our existence is, and that we can feel lighter when we let our egos melt away. And this is where the wisdom and secret of singing bowls come from.
