Fall School 2024 in Berlin – Live better and more fulfillingly

< /p>

Do you want to give your life new impulses? Are you looking for answers to the important questions in life? Would you like to initiate necessary changes in your life?

Then the 4-day Autumn School in Berlin is just right for you. During the four exciting, insightful days you will receive new, valuable impulses with the best ideas from philosophy, psychology, art and culture on important aspects of your life:

  • Who am I?
  • < li>How do I create fulfilling and vibrant partnerships?
  • How do I make good decisions?
  • How can I create real connections with other people?
  • How do I find meaning in my life?

Guided by our experienced and committed lecturers Dr. Jörg Bernardy, Sarah Bhandari and Maria Scholze, you can think intensively about your life away from everyday life. At the same time, in an appreciative and humorous atmosphere, you will have numerous opportunities to exchange ideas intensively with the other participants, have deep conversations, make new, exciting acquaintances and, last but not least, have a lot of fun.

< p>The thematic units consist of impulse lectures, exercises, group work and discussions. Participation requires no prior knowledge and is open to everyone. The group size varies between approx. 15 and 25 people. The age range is generally wide, which enables a rich exchange of experiences.

4:30 p.m. Module 1: Social Skills: Paths to more connectedness

Making the most of encounters and relationships with other people is a core competency for living a fulfilling life. Among other things, we look at how we can communicate better with others, how we can experience real, deep connections and what important role it plays to be able to show ourselves vulnerable.

approx. 7:00 p.m. “Speedating” with finger food and wine

Equipped with interesting and unusual questions, you will talk to the other participants in quickly changing rounds and practice the important skill of turning small talk into a conversation To do deep talk and have conversations that enrich you and make you happy.

Friday, November 1st with Sarah Bhandari and Maria Scholze

09:45 Module 2: Who am I? Develop self-knowledge

The path to a fulfilled life begins with the search for self-knowledge. Because if we don't know our desires, fears, hopes and thoughts well enough, we don't know what we want and need. We make wrong decisions, especially in love and work, and are haunted by repressed and unreflected feelings that strain our emotional balance.

Unfortunately, it is extremely difficult to gain self-awareness. On the one hand because there is simply too much bombarding us all the time and on the other hand because we are very skilled at hiding unpleasant truths and disturbing thoughts from ourselves.

1:00 p.m. Lunch break

14.15 Module 3: How to make good decisions

A good, fulfilling life is a series of good decisions. To do this, we need an understanding of the values and norms, conflicts and desires that influence us in decision-making situations. Making wise decisions also means realistically assessing the question of how much control we really have in decision-making situations and becoming aware of various distortions in perception. We examine our often unconscious decision-making styles based on specific personal decision-making difficulties and experiences to get a clearer idea of which unconscious preconceptions can interfere with our ability to make good decisions.

Approx. 6:30 p.m. Break

8:15 p.m. Confession Game Evening

With the help of The School of Life's Confessions Game, we will playfully interact with the other participants in small, changing groups our lives, our successes, our joys, our fears and our longings. The evening - led by our lecturer Sarah Bhandari - encourages you to reveal important aspects of your personality and share secrets with others by answering questions about career, sex, money, relationships and family in an intimate and playful atmosphere. We will look behind other people's facades and realize how normal our worries and secret thoughts are.

Saturday, 2. November with Jörg Bernardy

09:45 Module 4: Love and Partnership

Am On the third day we look at the question of how we can have successful relationships. One of the biggest mistakes we make in relationships is the romantic assumption that we intuitively have to do everything right in love and that we can't get any smarter or better at it. We will explore how our past experiences shape our relationships. We will learn important skills that keep a relationship alive and put our attitudes and expectations of a partnership to the test.

1:30 p.m. Light Lunch with Jörg Bernardy

3:00 p.m. Philosophical walk

After a philosophical keynote speech on the topics of perception and mindfulness, the participants go on a walk through the neighborhood.

Approx. 6:30 p.m. End

Sunday, November 3rd with Jörg Bernardy

09:15 Module 6: The meaning of life

We experience our life as successful when we find it meaningful. The question of what makes life meaningful can only be answered individually. At the end of the Fall School we try to identify the components of such a life and look at the differences between a meaningful life and a happy life.

12:15 Lunch break

13 :30 reflection and feedback

15:00 end
