About event
Meeting a teacher who combines a rigorous mind and an open heart
NO MORE REGISTRATIONS - THE HALL IS FULL!
In insight meditation, we develop beneficial states of mind by focusing, for example, on observing the breath. However, purifying insight can also be developed by focusing on a particular state of mind, such as loving kindness. This form of insight meditation can also be developed in a relaxed way in everyday life.
We invite you to an evening Dhamma talk with Henk Barendregt.
Henk Barendregt is a Dutch meditation teacher and professor emeritus of Radboud University in Nijmegen. He has been practicing meditation since 1972. He first studied Zen with Kobun Chino Roshi, then practiced vipassana for a long time under the guidance of Phra Mettavihari, but in recent years he has also devoted himself to the practice of metta meditation and Mahamudra. He leads meditation retreats in the Netherlands, Italy, Greece and Slovakia.
He is also the author and co-author of a number of professional texts on the border of Buddhist psychology, phenomenology of meditation, science of consciousness and neuropsychology. He is the holder of the prestigious Spinoza Prize, a member of the Academia Europaea and was also honored as a Knight of the Order of the Dutch Lion.
The lecture will be in English with interpretation into Czech.
