About event
“My music is a kind of inner diary, it arises from connection with
nature, the rhythms of life, the experience of inner and external
moods and silence.” Monika Stadler interprets and composes her harp music under this motto. Born in Linz, she studied at the Vienna University of Music (classical) with Prof. Blovsky-Miller and in Boston (jazz), among others. with Deborah Henson-Conant, where she won several prizes at international jazz harp competitions. After engagements with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, she now only performs as a soloist, in a duo or trio with only her own projects. In addition to her busy concert activities at home and in many countries in Europe, North Africa, USA, Canada, Japan, India and Vietnam, she teaches improvisation workshops for harpists in Europe and the USA. Since 2010, Stadler has been a visiting professor for jazz harp at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Since 2016 she has been teaching improvisation at the University of Music and Performing Arts. Art in Vienna. So far she has published 12 CDs and 10 music books (Music Publisher Doblinger, Creighton's Collection).
