About event
The 12-day trek from Tušeti to Kazbegi started comfortably.
Villages with typical medieval towers, sun-drenched green slopes, white sheep and a cultural gem in the form of the medieval village of Šatili, registered in the Unesco cultural heritage. In the middle of the trek, everything changed.
Impermeable wet jungle, rock climbing and raging mountain rivers.
Fortunately, the Georgian army is there for you, guarding not only the border, but also that you have in this wilderness what to eat and drink. The Western Caucasus in Svaneti is once again ruled by glaciated giants. In the base camp below one of them – Ushba – we met Ukrainian climbers with a becherovka and a guitar, and we couldn't leave the base camp for three days. The Georgian Caucasus are beautiful mountains without crowds of tourists yet, come and see for yourself.
Lecturer: Petra Pokorná
