Latin America is rich in raw materials that are central to the global energy transition - from lithium to copper to green hydrogen. At the same time, many countries in the region are facing profound social and political challenges. The energy transition can be a catalyst for sustainable development or a new driver of social inequality.
In countries like Chile, Bolivia, Argentina or Colombia, different strategies, conflicts and potential are evident. What geopolitical interests are at play? How does a just transition succeed? And what role do international actors - including Germany - play in this area of tension?
The event aims to analyze regional developments and make global connections visible.
Panel participants
Prof. Dr. Kristina Dietz (University of Kassel)
Michael Reckordt (PowerShift)
🎤 Moderation: Heidi Feldt (LAF Berlín e.V.)
