In a world gone mad it's hard to think right
A drone hits a shelter, noisy images show the last seconds of a soldier, underlaid of combative phonk music. Cut. A rapper holds his first iced tea into the camera and grins. Cut. A city at night, tinged with green. The tail of a rocket hitting a high-rise building stands out bright and clear; you can hear the detonation, alarm sirens and excited barking of dogs. An established indie pop artist sings his most famous song, the camera pans, and suddenly the Crazy Frog comes into the picture, in a good mood and only wearing his distinctive vest. He puts his arm around the well-known singer and they both join in the chorus of their new song together. Cut. Cut. Cut.
Grim104's new album, "No Country For Old Grim", is a crazy, dark collage of all these images that have influenced both world events and our personal feelings in recent years: With the wars and atrocities of the last few years, the relative comfort of the decade has finally dissolved, the feeling of political and economic security has eroded in recent years. And things start to slip in the local area too: the “poor but sexy” utopia of Berlin is over and an obscure, new class society has emerged - those who order the smoothie and those who deliver the smoothie in a broken Mitsubishi Colt. In between all the considerations that you have in your mid-thirties when you no longer make it into the smoothie class: Or should you do something real again? Or move away again? Or not?
Grim104 will also be bringing this knife-edge dance to the stage from April 2026. In 10 cities, anger and ecstasy are unleashed in an energetic, raw live show in which melancholic and crazy lights flash again and again. Anyone who has attended the concerts of previous tours knows that Grim104 will make their audience go wild with this album - and anyone who visits for the first time can look forward to a memorable concert evening.
