About event

La Ondou

Margareth Kammerer: voice, guitar
Rebecca Lane: voice, bass flute, objects
Deborah Walker: voice, cello, objects

The music of La Ondou is a journey that begins with Virginia Woolf's novel "Waves" — her microscopic observations of nature and the soul in the late 19th century. From these texts, new poems are created using the technique of "copying and pasting" to then transition to the lyricism of a young Sicilian poet and his new, powerful voice approximately one hundred years later, and then to a poem by the Spanish performer, vocalist and poet Lorena Iyquierdo.
The artists weave a tapestry of voices and instrumental tones, as well as the sounds of everyday objects. Inspired by the words of Virginia Woolf — "(...) In this universe there is nothing fixed, nothing fixed, everything undulates, everything dances (...)" — Kammerer, Lane and Walker create vivid, permeable and transparent musical structures that give space to the words and send them on their own journey together with the listeners.
