PROGRAM
The concert program is inspired by the Hebrew song "Od Chozer HaNigun" with lyrics by Nathan Alterman and music by Nachum Heiman.
"Nigun" is a term from Jewish tradition and describes a melody that is often improvised, sung or played instrumentally. It conveys emotions and spiritual depth and symbolizes the unbreakable connection between past and present, between diaspora and homeland.
Nigunim (plural of Nigun) are transmitted orally from generation to generation, reinforcing their importance to the Jewish people and the connection between the Diaspora and Israel. This is also what the song “Od Chozer HaNigun” is about.
