About event

Over 800 instruments from five centuries can be seen in our display collection. These include highlights such as the Naumburg wind instruments, the instruments of a Central German town piper around 1600, or highlights such as the famous Bach harpsichord, transverse flutes from the possession of Frederick the Great, the traveling harpsichord of Sophie-Charlotte of Prussia, Carl Maria von Weber's fortepiano, an English church organ from the beginning of the 19th century and the largest cinema and theater organ on the European continent, the four-manual Mighty Wurlitzer. Jörg Joachim Riehle introduces them in his tour, tells their story, explains their construction and gives an impression of their sound. Participation in the tour costs 3 euros, plus entry to the museum of 10 euros, reduced price 5 euros.
