Failure doesn’t only happen in business, it happens in our everyday decisions, responsibilities, and the expectations we put on ourselves. Whether it’s focusing on the wrong priorities or taking on too much, these moments shape who we become.
At Fuckup Nights Student Edition, our speakers share honest stories, from professional missteps to personal challenges. In a supportive community, we show that growth often starts exactly where things go wrong.
This edition is a collaboration with the Young Entrepreneurs Program Austria (YEPA), which helps students explore entrepreneurial skills, innovative ideas, and connect with like-minded peers across Austria.
Moritz Hofbauer and I, Ariadna Moldoveanu, joined one of YEPA’s six expert sessions with Dejan Stojanovic. Knowing him from our work with the Fuckup Nights team, we realized a regular session wouldn’t be enough, so we’re excited to organize this special Student Edition and grateful for the opportunity.
Even if you’re not part of YEPA, this event is open to all students and young entrepreneurs up to 25!

Dejan Stojanovic: He built a movement around failure, but the real question is, what did he have to fail at first to make others speak up?
Luisa Schiffke: She went from dance teacher to Managing Director of the Entrepreneurial Future Foundation, but the moment that changed her path was never part of the plan.
Marie Söllhammer: A single question led her to “2 Minuten 2 Millionen”, but when goals no longer aligned, her only escape was a flight to North America.

WTF are Fuckup Nights?
Setbacks and fuckups are part of (work) life. They’re part of success and rarely mean the end. Mistakes are therefore amazing teachers, and that’s exactly why Fuckup Nights is fully dedicated to breaking the taboo around failure.
In our own authentic way, we aim to contribute to establishing a positive culture of learning from mistakes in Austria.
With that in mind, we’re hosting three speakers who have failed, whether with a project, a business idea, a startup, personally, politically, or in some other way. Each speaker has 10 slides and 10 minutes to present their fuckup and, most importantly, the lessons they learned from it.
Behind our Fuckup Nights is the failure enthusiast and founder of the Failure Institute, Mag. Dejan Stojanovic.
