Fresh Dance

Fresh Dance in the curatorial selection of dramaturg Maja Hriešik will present the young generation of female creators, students and recent graduates of the Dance Theater and Performance program of the VŠMU in Bratislava. The works reflect eco-sadness, sensitivity to nature, the personal confusion of the creators, but also the need for perspective and humor.

Tereza Pavlíková: Odonata
On the way to the forest, I collect small bugs from the ground, they have broken bodies, they don't move. I explore the beauty in this strange, fragile, immobilized state. Something suddenly moves inside me, the boundary between me and the insect cracks, I find myself in a hybrid body, somewhere on the border. Transformation comes as a response to powerlessness, creating space for a new form of life. The dead will never die!

Dorozlová, Rašková, Poprocká: Sonder
They are rocked by instability… one must save the other from falling, while she herself is looking for her footing. There is a cycle of forced support that they need to break out of. Through closeness, they find independence and the power of mutual balance.

Marková, Miťková, Sakáčová: But otherwise I'm fine
What have you never tried in front of an audience? And what if it makes you drool a little? (a mouth-watering experience)

Julia Pabst: AM I?
Movements lose human logic and become disturbing. Jule asks, "Are you there?" and the AI responds to her, assuring her that it is still present. Fear fills the room. In this unsettling atmosphere, the question of who actually makes the decisions becomes unclear as reality merges with virtuality and chaos mounts.
