How can the medium of photography manipulate reality?

The photography workshop for the exhibition on tourism, together with the photographer Tereza Bonaventurová, will focus on this ability of the image. Atmospheric shots of the landscape at sunset, photos of unique architecture, snapshots of local life or attractive selfies - there are countless types of vacation photos, and social networks flood the public space with them every day. The workshop will open up the question of how photography affects the perception of reality and decisions about where people travel and rest.

Participants will look for places in Žižkov together that can resemble distant landscapes and create images that give the impression of an exotic vacation without leaving the city. The goal of the workshop will not be the technical perfection of photographs, but the development of the ability to think through images and understand the possibilities of the medium of photography. The program will present work with context, meaning and a photographic series. Each participant will create their own photo collection focused on a specific idea or theme. The workshop will also include the possibility of subsequent online consultations.

Tereza Bonaventurová

In 2018, she graduated from Lukáš Jasanský's photography studio at the Faculty of Art and Design in Ústí nad Labem. In his photographic work, he mainly deals with the reflection of the public space of Czech and foreign cities, their visuality and urbanism. She is also currently working as a curator at Galerie Fotografic. In addition to visual arts, he is also involved in film education. She co-founded the association krutón, where she organized and led many workshops, workshops and independent shootings focused on film, music clips, photography and contemporary art.
