Folktronica Fest: La Forastería & Lagartijeando live in Vienna
FOLKTRONICA FEST VIENNA
Tribal Electronics & Ancestral Grooves
From the mountains, deserts and cities of Latin America, a new wave of sound arrives in Vienna.
Folktronica Fest brings together artists who blend electronic music with ancestral roots, live instruments and psychedelic textures. A night where organic rhythms meet modern production, creating a raw, hypnotic and deeply human dancefloor.
More than a concert, it’s a gathering — a space to move, connect and experience the pulse of a living culture in transformation.
Lagartijeando
Born 15 years ago from a dream in the desert universe of Wirikuta, Mexico, Lagartijeando is the musical project of Argentine musician and artist Mati Zundel. Evoking the spirit of Latin American surrealism, his work carefully blends ancestral sounds, folklore and contemporary electronic music. Since 2009, both as Lagartijeando and Mati Zundel, he has released five albums recorded during different journeys across Latin America. His music has been associated with labels such as ZZK Records, Waxploitation and Wonderwheel Recordings, alongside artists like Nicola Cruz, El Búho, Chancha Vía Circuito and Nickodemus.
La Forastería
From the native mountains of Córdoba, Argentina, to the world’s stages and roads, La Forastería is a gathering place for wandering souls.
An art-music tribe blending electronics, Latin American folklore, reggae, funk, Afrobeat and epic psychedelic textures. On stage, the project is carried by five musicians: Toni Volpen, singing to the four winds; Tuto Petruzzi on electric guitar, ronroco and synthesizers; Vikingo Galina on saxophone; Cani Varela on bass; and Don Wali Raymundo on percussion.
Stone
Stone is a music curator who creates sonic journeys ranging from downtempo and folktronica to tribal and Afro sounds. Originally from Chile, she focuses on showcasing Latin American producers and bringing the roots of the Global South to European stages.
Najad
NAJAD presents an immersive hybrid live set, blending psychedelic electronic music with organic instrumentation and ancient rhythmic influences. His spacious and atmospheric journeys are inspired by global traditions, where tribal grooves and subtle medicine-sound elements guide the audience into a hypnotic, heart-centered flow.
