FODBAL 2024 / Festival ochotníckych divadiel v Bratislave

The second year of the FODBAL festival will take place on October 17-20, 2024 in the Old Town Culture Center at Školská 14 in Bratislava. In addition to the theaters Ľhostajňa, Stopy Snov and Divadelná děčeň, the program will also feature the theater Paradox in Nová Zámok. The musical component of the festival will be provided by Džumelec and Éter, as well as by up-and-coming bands Cama & The Chameleons and The Face Of God. The artistic component of the festival will be diversified by the Slavo Turanca exhibition.

In his free time, Slavo Turanec fights with his work against ossified academism and at the same time points to the traumas that affect the delicate soul of the artist our society commits. His credo when devising what he paints is: the more degenerate, the better. Maybe that's also why, once he showed his pictures to his mother, she stopped talking to him for a week.

Džumelec observes the world and makes jams from the harvest of words. Word games and babbles are accompanied by guitar and sometimes electronics. Chvostoskoky's new album is more danceable, full of cheerful southern rhythms and sonically so rich that it needs another person - guitarist Lukáš Valkučák. They are not stars, they are rather shooting stars, they also play non-existent wish-fulfillment songs.

🙃 NAKED AND BROKEN 🙃
We live in a time when young people really don't have it easy. Information overload, disaster after disaster. Nudity is the order of the day, but intimacy is disappearing. Who are we? What is our place in the world? Why are there wars and suffering in the world, and what role can we play in ending them? Is a blue-yellow flag on your Facebook profile picture a sufficient expression of solidarity? How autonomous are we in our decisions and how many things do we do only because we observed them from society?

They play their own creation, it cannot be completely classified into one style, but it is more or less a relaxed singer-songwriter. Their songs and lyrics are full of emotions inspired by personal experiences. Some are playful, others melancholic, many provoke social norms.

The Řapák people are alive forever! Everything that "wasn't possible" once, "isn't possible" today either. Even if we exchange muddy boots for designer sneakers, not even the best schools can shake off the straw from them. A grunt has always been a grunt, only its price has multiplied over the years and humanity has remained just as uninteresting. So the show is as fun as life itself.
