A mother's gripping fight for custody of her own children.
About the film:
Alice stands before the court and knows that any hesitation can have fatal consequences. At stake is nothing less than the custody of her two children, which she is fighting over with her ex-husband. The children do not want to see their father anymore, and through the statements of all those involved, the troubled past of the whole family and the dark shadow of doubts come to the surface. What actually happened? Is the father unfairly accused? Can Alice protect her children before it's too late? The film raises questions about the power of the voice of women and children in today's society and how justice deals with family and intimate partner violence. The riveting Dardenne-cut thriller offers a precisely structured, layered portrait of trials that, in search of justice, force their characters to step out of their comfort zone to such an extent that they spare no one – neither the guilty nor the victims.
