About event
Cillian Murphy wakes up from a coma in an empty hospital to find that Britain has been destroyed by an aggressive virus in less than a month. Instead of tea at five o'clock and cookies, he will have to flee for his life from the "infected". He meets a handful of survivors and attempts to find safe harbor, only to discover that a savage army may be more terrifying than the monsters themselves in a post-apocalyptic world. ☣️🧟
Director Danny Boyle rebooted the zombie genre with this piece and proved that silence in central London is the scariest sound in the world. A raw, digitally grainy ride that we'll sweeten up with three drinks. 📹
😡 Rage – Vodka Anton Kaapl, grenadine, rosemary lemonade, lemon
🕍 Refuge – Blue gin, mango, Thomas Henry tonic, lime
👋 HELLO – Frizzante from Oulehla winery, orange juice, cardamom

About the film:
A group of activists fighting for animal rights invades a laboratory where scientists are studying monkeys infected with rabies. The guards let the monkeys out of their cages, they immediately bite them and infect them.
Jim (Cillian Murphy), a courier service worker, wakes up from a coma in the hospital to find the building empty. Terrified and lonely, a young man leaves the hospital to discover the full horror. London was completely depopulated. Somewhere they are seen dying. He meets Selena and Mark. The virus wiped out almost the entire city. Selena learns that Mark is also infected with a deadly virus against which there is no defense, and in an act of self-preservation, she kills him. Frank joins the small expedition with his daughter Hannah. Drinking water supplies are running out. The group is looking for a way out. After listening to the weather reports, they get information about a military unit somewhere outside the city. That could be a lifesaver. But the depressed castaways have no idea where an even bigger threat is waiting for them.
Director Danny Boyle (e.g. Trainspotting, The Beach) conveys through the film to the audience a brutal vision of an apocalyptic abandoned London and people who become face to face with the deadly virus of cynicism and lose their emotions. It is also a harsh message about how destructive the loss of natural humanity is.
Great Britain, 2002, 113 min, dir. Danny Boyle, in the original version with Czech subtitles (ENGLISH FRIENDLY)
