About event
With Markus Wenz.
Unlike, for example, singing or playing a wind instrument, when playing the piano the sound is generated further away and does not flow directly from the body. This makes it all the more important to include the sensory perceptions in the implementation of the player's design ideas.
Starting with the sitting posture, position to the instrument and anchoring on the floor, the idea of the sounding tone leads to better results if the sensory perceptions are trained and sharpened accordingly. The areas of sensory feedback include, among others: Key weight, pedal behavior and the basic disposition of the instrument - here playing the piano is a challenge because, unlike other instruments, the players usually do not take their instrument with them and therefore often have to adapt to an instrument again and again. This makes it all the more important to incorporate our sensory perceptions in order to achieve a successful presentation. In addition to this direct feedback during play, the development of a structured awareness in relation to ear training is also one of the essential aspects in lessons.
The subject exchange places the different components of sensory perceptions at the center of the conversation and highlights the requirements for their more conscious use and their connections in lessons.
Location: Music School Fanny Hensel / Wedding branch, Ruheplatzstr. 4, 13347 Berlin, concert hall.
Free for teachers at Berlin's district music schools. Please note: Registration is essential!
In cooperation with the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion.
