About event
"I looked at the two axolotls making out, lying like that on my palms, and I felt like a god."
Six characters, six shattered countries, six grotesque stories of escape, survival and pretense. The uncertain territory of the television competition and the only prize for the winner - US citizenship. The MeetFactory theater presents a new text by the Russian-French author Esther Bol (Crime, Mama) in its world premiere.
In Infrared you will witness a popular reality show that will not leave anyone alone. In the infrared spectrum, you can see below the surface of things. What is Ašti, a scientist from a country ruled by religious fundamentalists, hiding? While he is willing to become Meran, a street artist, who was imprisoned for terrorism in a Balkan country? What does pregnant contestant Oksana sacrifice for victory? Your dignity, your country, or something bigger? Dark humor and cynical sharing of likes compete with a sincere desire for a better life across the ocean.
Infrared was completed by the author in the summer of 2025, before things started happening in America's dream empire. Directed by Martina Frejová Krátká, Annette Nesvadbová, Tereza Chytilová, Klára Suchá, Hynek Chmelař, Jan Jankovský and Faraz Alam will perform.
