About event

Guided tour of the former State Council building of the GDR and the former official residence of Chancellor Gerhard Schröder.

What does Erich Honecker's study actually look like out? Why did the then Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder choose his office in the State Council building? And what secret does the room hold, the walls of which are lined with goatskin? You can get answers to these and other questions on our ESMT campus tours.

The former GDR State Council building was built between 1962 and 1964 and is considered one of the most important architectural monuments in post-war history. Built as the seat of the State Council and decorated with elements from the former city palace opposite, the building now serves as the headquarters of ESMT Berlin, Germany's most international business school. ESMT employees offer monthly tours of the building. There are lecture, ballroom and banquet halls, reception areas and seminar rooms on over 5000 m², which are equipped with the most modern audio, video and presentation systems. Guests can learn more about the building's architectural features and its central role in German history.

To take part in one of the next ESMT campus tours, please register. Registration is mandatory as places are limited.
