About event
The finale of the intergenerational exhibition Smoke and Mirrors will bring, in addition to the last commented parade for adults and an educational program for children, a jam concert for all age categories. Its background will be the twenty-meter statue of the Long Nose in the courtyard of the Pálffy Palace. Don't miss this spring celebration.
The statue of the Long Nose in the courtyard of the Pálffy Palace successfully survived the winter and deserves a spring celebration. On the occasion of the ending Smoke and Mirrors exhibition, it will become a support element for the accompanying event, namely the Džumelec concert. Erik Sikora comes to play the guitar and hum under his breath. His songs hold up a mirror to songwriting itself, as micro-performative games with words and wondering about the world. Attention, it can be portable.
ERIK SIKORA is a visual artist, video artist, performer, quasi-YouTuber, songwriter. He studied in all possible studios at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and later a doctorate in his hometown of Košice, where he currently works as a pedagogue at the Faculty of Arts of the Technical University. He shuffles switches between musical and artistic outputs. As a musician, he plays alone with the guitar, or children's songs with the band Džemiaky. As a visual artist, he works in new media with spoken word or video, and most recently also in old media with a brush. He mixes all this in live performative lectures. He prefers improvisation as such. For the exhibition Smoke and Mirrors, he prepared a video and the song Rozohňovadla, as well as a twenty-meter statue of Long Nose, which was collectively taken out during protests.
