eMimino cz: Jak na internetu bezpečněji diskutovat o politice v "třetím prostředí"?

The environment of discussions in the online space is often described as very toxic, polarized, generally hostile. But there are also so-called "third environments", primarily non-political interest forums (often parenting, hobby, etc.), in which people talk about public and political topics in the context of everyday life. Although these are often highly contentious issues, in these environments the debate seems to be much safer for those involved. The lecture will present the results of two researches focused on the eMimino parenting forum and will try to answer the question whether the less conflictual way of discussions is due to the clear predominance of women in the forum, or rather the nature of the relationships in it.

doc. PhDr. Lenka Vochocová, Ph.D. is dedicated to the field of media studies, specializing in particular in the analysis of expressive forms of online participation, gender media studies, critical media theory and group representation in public space with an emphasis on intolerant attitudes. He currently leads a research project focused on the spread and reception of gender misinformation and misinformation and a team dealing with communication peripherals.
