There are many hands behind every plate: farmers, producers, food artisans and cooks contribute every day to ensuring that good food ends up on our plates. But the people and stories behind the food often remain invisible.

With the new Slow Food Festival “one plate, many hands” we are making precisely these connections visible - and invite you to two enjoyable days at Markterei Wien.

Look forward to exceptional dishes from chefs from the Slow Food Cooks' Alliance, each of which was developed together with producers from the Slow Food Network. At each stand, a chef and producer stand side by side and tell the story behind the dish, the product and the people behind it.

15 chefs from all over Austria create dishes based on special foods from the Slow Food network - from Carinthia to Styria and Upper Austria to Lower Austria and Vienna.

Get to know extraordinary producers, taste their products and take your favorite products straight home with you.

Tasting workshops

Dive deeper into the world of special foods. Discover the diversity of Leithaberg's noble cherries, taste rare wines such as the Roter Veltliner Donauterrassen, learn about the art of raw milk cheese or experience how different high-quality cold-pressed oils can taste.

Panel discussion

On Friday evening, representatives from gastronomy, agriculture and the food industry will discuss: “Origin on the plate - how do we achieve the obligatory Labeling?”

Enjoyment meets responsibility

All participating producers and food artisans are part of the Slow Food Network Austria. They show that food of the highest quality, handcrafted production, biodiversity, fair relationships and great taste belong together.

From Arche and Presidio products worth protecting, such as the Lungauer Tauernroggen or the Leithaberger Edelkirsche, to the Slow Food Presidi Wiener Mischersatz and Roter Veltliner Donauterrassen, there is a lot to discover, taste and enjoy this weekend experience.
