About event
The Ehrphilharmonie Vienna presents a concert evening full of energy and musical masterpieces under the artistic direction of Andrea Götsch. The orchestra opens the evening lively and colorfully with Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 70. A special highlight follows with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A major, interpreted by clarinetist Myung Shin, which delights with its lyrical depth and lightness. After the break, Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, one of the most iconic works in music history, will be heard.
Clarinetist Myung Shin is a member of the Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra and is currently studying at the Soloist course at the Korea National University of Arts (K-Arts). He completed his bachelor's degree at Yonsei University and then completed his master's degree at K-Arts. There he was the first clarinetist ever to be accepted into the renowned three-year soloist course. Myung Shin is the Grand Prix winner of the Korean Wind and Percussion Competition and overall winner of the Shinyoung K-Arts Auditions, during which he was awarded a solo recital at the Shinyoung Chamber Hall and an invitation to perform as a soloist with an orchestra abroad. He is also a winner of the Overseas Dispatch Competition, the Sungjung Competition and other important competitions.
