About event
Jiří Musil (NM): The Egyptian Western Desert and Oasis in the Roman time
Roman monuments are found in all corners of the ancient world, from Britain to Asia, the Rhine and the Danube on the North African coast. However, Egypt is known for other monuments. But here too, Roman domination left its traces, although specific, as the environment itself required. The remoteness of the Egyptian Western desert has left the Roman monuments aside from the interest of tourists, but not by experts. What do they tell? What did life look like in the desert of Roman Egypt? How could you survive or prosper? And what was the end of these flourishing settlements?
