About event

The program will take the participants to the House U Zlatého prsten, which stands on the site of the former defensive moat protecting Týnský dvůr. In the 13th century, the moat was filled in and a Gothic house was built in its place, which underwent several major reconstructions over the centuries. The tour will begin in a medieval cellar with foundations dating back to the 13th century. On the floor above, parts of the masonry from the reign of Přemysl Otakar II will be presented. The program will also include fragments of medieval wall paintings, a Renaissance staircase with a skylight, typical comb vaults and painted wooden ceilings.

The first major stop will take place on the ground floor, where Sadeler's Prospect of Prague from 1606 will be presented. This unique view of the city is processed in a modern digital form and allows you to follow the moving details of the life of the time – for example rowers on the river, carriages in the streets or nobility on the promenade.

On the first and second floors, the program will move to the exposition dedicated to Charles IV of Prague. The multimedia exhibition will present the monarch's important projects, such as the Emmaus Monastery, the Charles Bridge or the reconstruction of Prague Castle. It will also explain the functioning of the four cities of Prague and the significance of the establishment of the New Town of Prague. Examples of everyday life from the Luxembourg period will also be included, for example period glasses, playing blocks or children's toys.

NOTICE Entrance fees to the Prague Museum facility are paid on site: full 180 CZK, reduced 80 CZK (65+ and children 7-26). The event is not held within the framework of the Prague Museum, but under the auspices of the Vycházka Praha project.
