About event
Herbert Gladney spent ten years working on the book "Marriage for the Ages" and now he and his wife are on a tour to increase its sales. It is tiny. In addition, the writing of the book took its toll on their marriage, which does not seem to last "forever". They are desperately trying to hide the contradictions, because who would read the marriage advice of a man whose marriage is falling apart, right?
Herbert and his wife Rebecca have just checked into the next hotel on their tour and are about to appear on the host's evening show Pamela Blair. It's a local show, but Pam is trying to change that and is looking for some sensation to pull on her guests. She stalks the hotel, accompanied by a cameraman, waiting for an opportunity.
She is so focused on Gladney that she initially overlooks a scandal of national importance. Senator and future presidential candidate Ryan is secretly staying in the suite next door, intending to enjoy a romantic moment with his lover. To make matters worse, the door between the two apartments can be opened and the situation is complicated by other characters: the Ukrainian maid Nina, the crazy nun Barbara, who wrote the song "Marriage for eternity" that she intends to sing in the evening show, the hotel bellman Bill with a phenomenal memory for faces guests and finally, of course, the senator's jealous wife appears with the figure and strength of a wrestler.
And at this moment, probably all the audience in the hall already know what makes this comedy exceptional and original. Because there are always only two characters on stage, and the audience discovers to their amazement that they are played by only TWO actors, SHE and HIM! Actors change roles, costumes, accents, wigs, masks... At times, the disguises and the pace are so fast that you think it is impossible to do it in two, but productions all over the world prove that it is possible.
