About event
A funny monodrama about the reality of the Internet age and the intensive use of smartphones.
Life under the control of a smartphone performed by Sára Arnstein.
Wonderland is an author's production that reflects the reality of the Internet age and the phenomenon of experiencing the present through "connectedness" and the intensive use of smartphones. As the only performer on stage, Sára Arnstein, through physical movement, text and work with empty space, contextualizes this topic in a playful and humorous personal statement on the edge of stand-up.
Within the topic, it was important for the entire creative team, which also consists of dramaturg Lucie Kašiarová, light designer Matouš Ondra and scenographer Eszter Koncz, not to talk about generalities or definitions, but to let everything pass an authentic network of personal experience. "I am playfully zooming in from different angles of myself. Myself as a person who in today's society often finds myself in a vicious loop of impulses and stimuli that pulsate in a regular rhythm between us and the devices we carry with us day and night. But I am still me, I am talking about myself," adds the author and performer of the production. current book The Tyranny of the Moment. In it, the Norwegian anthropologist and sociologist Thomas Hylland Eriksen investigates in an engaging way how, with the development of the information society and the Internet, fast time gained dominance over slow time, and everything that was supposed to make life and communication easier for us, caused us to have less and less time.
How many times a day do you take your phone out of your pocket? how do you fall asleep how do you get up What do you do while riding the tram? How many times a day do you forget what you wanted to do 5 minutes ago before you picked up your phone and started doing something you didn't plan to do? How often do you get lost on your phone like Alice in Wonderland? "In this sense, the production also asks the question: How much effort do we have to make today in order to be able to concentrate on ordinary activities such as reading a book, looking out the window or walking down the street, without reaching into our pockets during the process, or without being distracted by the thought that necessarily connects us to the touch of the screen?" points out dramaturg Lucia Kašiarová.
You will be able to think about such and similar questions during the Wonderland production, if you don't get lost in the trap of many Facebook events and don't decide to stay at home in the end.
