About event
Come to our next Discovery College course in Nitra :) We will focus on the topic: "The world that shapes us - about culture, pressure and the soul."
We would love to see you in the library, on THURSDAY, in the common room, the meeting lasts 2 hours (with a break for refreshments), entry is FREE :)
This course is taught by: Lucia Bukovinová - psychologist and Kristína Petrovičová - peer consultant.
What does DISCOVERY COLLEGE actually mean?
It is a modern method of education and "discovery" in the topics of MENTAL HEALTH and WELL-BEING (well-being) focused on YOUNG PEOPLE (15-24), implemented in community settings.
Its principles follow the academies/recovery schools that are part of modern community mental health services in the world. They are a space where all participants come together to talk about mental health topics together to learn together and from each other. The source of mutual learning is personal experience as well as professional expertise.
Practical experiential education is tailor-made for all participants, therefore each course and each college is unique.
Provides a safe space for sharing, personal vulnerability and discomfort, conversations about important and challenging mental health topics. Each participant's opinions and experiences are valued.
"DC is basically an open classroom. An open classroom where there are guides at the front, but everyone in the room is a teacher in this environment and everyone is a student."
