The individual's discomfort in society, his skepticism and his doubts have been expressively expressed for four decades under the name DIE SKEPTIKER - on recordings, at live concerts and in the hearts of their fans, who now reach at least two (text-safe) generations. Yes, yes, yes: THE SKEPTICS are turning 40! They also play an exuberant anniversary tour. DIE SKEPTIKER, founded in East Berlin in 1986, played and continue to play energetic, electrifying and euphoric punk rock with clever German lyrics. The constant and only remaining skeptic of the founding band is the singer and lyricist EUGEN BALANSKAT. Despite member changes and a band break (2000-2006), albums and tours, life's hazards and social change, one thing is certain: the band and its singer have lost none of their emotional power to this day! We're talking about attitude. An attitude that has consistently and openly, seriously and convincingly emanated from DIE SKEPTIKER for four decades: with fearlessness, courage and anger, driving society forward in a destructive manner. Hard and fast in rhythm, serious and political in appearance, lyrical and intelligent in the text - to this day punk rock with style and the incomparable voice of our charismatic Caruso punk Eugen. DIE SKEPTIKER, with frontman Eugen Balanskat, Dominik Glöckner and Matthias Stephan on guitars, Jacob Thauer on bass and Wieland Wehr on drums, are still a “different band”, a fresh, timeless and contemporary group with historical and critical awareness and their own view of the “future”. For the sake of history: The talk of the “Dead Kennedys of the East” has a flaw – THE SKEPTICS could never, ever change their singer! The band's 40th anniversary tour celebrates the old and new songs from the first recordings to the last album. The rule is: no distance is too far! Because there were and always are hard times, messy times anyway, Dada in Berlin – there, there in Berlin! On the way there are black and steel bird warriors, early works are performed, after all it's about eating and morality, it says: defend yourself and, not entirely without reason, the conclusion is: get up! The classics from the early days are fresh and valid, the new works follow on seamlessly from them. We hear Eugene with powerful youthful anger. We feel and know: This band is needed. It takes THE SKEPTICS.
