About event

This time it says: “Who wants entry?” - Of course you & me! Come with us on a journey through the history of Austria!

The Habsburgs played a key role in shaping Austria's history. Time to pay them a visit. Come with us to the Capuchin Crypt! 🦇

“Madame, if I just wanted to remain among my own kind, I would have to walk in the Capuchin crypt,” Emperor Joseph II is said to have said to a lady-in-waiting who was upset about the Prater being opened to “the common people”. 🤬

He would have had plenty of company there in his time, albeit very silent ones. But since he was an extremely sensible person, he probably preferred walks in the fresh air 💨

Good thing, because perhaps he, the pragmatist, the inventor of the austerity coffin, who abhorred all excess, would have been very surprised or even annoyed by the huge sarcophagi of his ancestors 👀

For you, however, this promenade through the crypt will be a fascinating journey through the history of the Habsburgs! You will stand in amazement in front of all the crowns, swords, shields, skulls. Then you ask yourself: Who is buried here? How was his/her life? Happy? Sad? In any case, there are enough stories here! I'm looking forward to telling you about it 🦊

So: Register here now. But be quick! This tour is also very popular!🦊
