It is possible to stop being a parent, so how is it possible to stop being a partner? Do people nowadays have children because it is rewarding or do they see it as a necessary fulfillment of a partnership? If the mother or father lives alone with the child, do they still form a family?
Performance Kramerová vs. Kramer is inspired by Avery Corman's novel, best known for its Hollywood film adaptation. The iconic story about the failure of a partner relationship and parenthood serves the director as a platform for exploring these topics from the perspective of today.
What seemed unconventional and socially shocking in the 1970s is today a common, everyday reality - incomplete or patchwork families, the crisis of the nuclear family, high divorce rates or polyamory. The production arose out of the need to map changes in the understanding and form of today's family or partnership compared to the so-called traditional and to support the effort to redefine the family with respect to the present. design: Lukáš Katuščák
