The Irish singer/songwriter Dermot Kennedy, who once found his first listeners between Dublin street corners and small clubs, has in recent years become one of the most influential voices of his generation Ireland developed. Live, he proves best why he reaches so many people: the focus is not on the production, but on the honest, almost unprotected presence with which he sings. He has already impressed on iconic stages such as the O2 Arena in London and Madison Square Garden. After reduced European shows, the MISNEACH festival he curated and international guest appearances with artists such as Niall Horan, Noah Kahan and Zach Bryan, a new chapter will follow in 2026. In addition to fan favorites, Kennedy will also perform completely new material.
Dermot Kennedy started playing guitar at an early age, but spent a long time searching for the right tone. He finally found it: songwriter awards, over four billion streams on Spotify, the best-selling debut album in Ireland this century with “Without Fear”. Step by step he worked his way out of the local scene without ever losing the feeling that was inherent in his songs. Folk elements meet more modern structures, poetic images meet rhythmic clarity. With the second album “Sonder”, released in 2022, and the introspective EP “I’ve told the trees everything” (2024), the singer/songwriter has further sharpened his authentic sound. Dermot Kennedy is coming to Germany in spring 2026. The Irish folk band Amble accompanies him as support.
