About event

The Nearness, Elsewhere exhibition is based on a line that breaks free from the drawing and takes on the role of a structure. Layered shapes fold and reconnect without a fixed center, guided by their own internal logic. The whole is established as a continuous arrangement in which the perception moves between the physical and the image.

In the works of Phila Primus, the body appears in outline, section, layer and empty space. The human figure alternates with organic shapes reminiscent of maps, interior landscapes or records of movement — traces of physical and mental experience in which body awareness becomes the starting point for further investigation. Transparency, overlapping and subtle color accents shift the image between lightness and construction. Here, the line does not describe the finished shape, but guides its transformation — it separates, connects and disappears again.

Phila Primus (*1991) is a multimedia artist and poet of Czech-German-American origin. In his work, he combines painting, photography and found materials — he combines layered patterns on transparent films with glass, paper, light and sound. She has exhibited in Caesar, A (VOID) and HYB4 galleries, among others, where she has had a studio since June 2026, and participated in the 4+4 days in motion and Re-Connect Art festivals. In September of this year, the KANT publishing house will publish her monographic publication covering her work from 2013 to the present.
