About event
Protest against education cuts - schools have to be different!
🚨 CALL: Education is dying out - we mourn, we fight, we hope. Come on everyone!
Dear parents, dear students, dear people committed to education,
Berlin is planning further cuts to daycare centers and schools - in the middle of the education emergency. Instead of relief, even more burden. We say: Not with us, not with our children!
That's why we as a parents' initiative invite you to an unusual protest:
🕯️ "Education on the verge of extinction - a special kind of memorial service"
🗓️ November 10, 2025
🕓 4 - 5 p.m.
📍 Red Town Hall, Berlin
We create an image that lasts:
🎭 Staging of an abandoned classroom - 30 empty chairs for reduced offers such as school social work, democracy promotion, cultural education, violence prevention and practical learning
🌸 Flowers & lights
🎙️ Voices from parents, students and those committed to education
🎷 Live music
We mourn, but we are not giving up. We stand for a future in which good education is a right - not a budget item.
👉 Please come - together with children, friends, colleagues, neighbors
🕯️ Bring a small light (candle/LED) and dress in black
📎 Help us to become visible:
✅ Forward call
✅ Share sharepic - display digitally or printed out as a flyer in school/daycare/store
📢 Together we are loud!
For equal opportunities. For inclusion. For democracy. For our children. For Berlin. ❤️
