The Belgian pianist Florian Noack, known for his arrangements of numerous orchestral works for piano and his own performances, can rightly be described as a modern Franz Liszt. He presents a fascinating program that combines the lyrical beauty of the Viennese classics with the brilliant romantic works, especially by Liszt.
In the first part we hear Schubert's Sonata in B major D.575 from his youth, which impresses with its warm singing and rich structure, followed by a selection from Liszt's Études d'exécution transcendante, which demonstrates the monumental virtuosity of the piano in all unfolds its radiance.
The second part leads from Liszt's tender lullaby to the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 11 to the devilishly sparkling Mephisto Waltz No. 2. Finally, Rimsky-Korsakov's orchestral masterpiece Scheherazade can be heard in Florian Noack's own piano arrangement - a brilliant climax that brings the world of One Thousand and One Nights into one Instrument fantastically brought to life.
