Danube Music Day: Max Cooper

Max Cooper will perform his audiovisual show in Bratislava.

British musician and producer Max Cooper will visit the Bratislava MMC on December 20, 2024 with his 3D/AV show. During two hours, he will present a perfect illusion of what can be projected on two screens and with electronic music. "Odyssey of human knowledge" will be presented as part of the Danube Music Day series.

Max Cooper is successful in several areas: respected as a producer in the electronic scene, a visionary in the audiovisual arts and in scientific research in the field of biology. He creates his works on the border between ambient, IMD and techno music. Thoughtful visions aroused interest when they were heard in the monumental Barbican in London, as well as in the two-thousand-year-old monument - the Athenian Acropolis, where Cooper performed as the first ever techno producer. He took on a similar role last summer at the Inota Music Festival, when he played in an abandoned power plant. However, he can also transfer the means exploring the concepts of creation, identity and infinity to the club environment.

M. Cooper meshes electronic sounds into elaborate patterns of visual form. With his work, he was included among such personalities who transcend electronic music as Jon Jopkins, Ólafur Arnalds, or Aphex Twin, at the same time he got closer to and in many ways even surpassed the pioneer of electronics Jean-Michel Jarr.

His fourth studio album Yearning for the Infinite dealt with the topic "what it means to be human in a world forever changed by technology". He also develops this to a great extent in his latest audiovisual work Seme, which will be heard again at the Barbican.

He will come to Bratislava's MMC (Majestic Music Club) on December 20, 2024 with a special two-hour 3D/AV presentation. He will project images and visions on two overlapping canvases - developing this story on ambient surfaces up to broken and straight techno beats.
