Hans-Georg moved from the deepest province to the big metropolis many years ago. Here the once shy and awkward country boy created a sophisticated alter ego. Many men crossed his path during this time. But the path to freedom and queer self-realization is paved with one detour or another. The city itself contributes not least to this, the constantly changing Berlin with its endless possibilities and small and large absurdities.
Anyone who knows the 40 singers knows that the new program is also accompanied by four-part harmonies and one or two sophisticated choreography. Since 1987, Berlin's oldest and largest gay choir has been delighting audiences far beyond the city's borders. In their many programs, the misfortunes of gay life are sung in their many forms.
The Minne men are kept musically in check by choir director Holger Perschke, and Steven Desroches contributes the magical piano sounds.
This time, too, MÄNNER-MINNE shares the ufaFabrik stage with special guests. On October 10th, Die Kessen Berlinessen will present their brand new program “Hits from a cheeky mouth” – world-famous pop songs, which they freely add their own cheeky lyrics to. The Schöneberger a cappella lesbian choir conveys the joy of singing and community and always remains somewhat political. Barbarella Olm guides you through all the ups and downs. No song is safe from them: the main thing is cheeky!
