We invite you to an evening screening of a film dedicated to the legacy and mission of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. This year we also commemorate his beautiful 91st birthday.

Have you already seen the documentary Dalai Lama in Buddha's Footsteps? Come see it and chat with Viliam Poltikovič after the screening. It will not only be about the life and legacy of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, but also about the new film Dalai Lama - Ocean of Wisdom, which is currently in Czech cinemas.

The Dalai Lama in the Footsteps of the Buddha (52 minutes)

The main character of the documentary film is the 14th Tibetan Dalai Lama, Tändzin Gjamccho, who in the film takes us around the most sacred places of Buddhism, which are connected with the life spans of the great teacher.

The filming of the film began in 2008 and ended in the summer of 2015, it was filmed in India, Nepal, Tibet, China, Laos and Sri Lanka. His Holiness the Dalai Lama will guide us through the most sacred places of Buddhism, which are connected with the life milestones of the great teacher. It is Lumbini where the Buddha was born, Bodhgaya where the Buddha attained enlightenment, Sarnath where he first spoke about his knowledge, and Kushinagara where he lived his last moments. At the same time, the Dalai Lama brings the essence of Buddhism in a comprehensible way, even in its most demanding form – the teaching of emptiness. Furthermore, he explains the importance of working with the mind, with disturbing emotions, he also talks about the current situation and emphasizes the importance of inner values, humanity, caring for others - we can solve the increasing aggression of young people by introducing the teaching of morality and ethics on a secular basis, not on a religious one. Nalanda, caves in Ajanta and Ellora, Stupa in Sanči and others), the most important Jain monuments (Santrunjaya temple mountain with a thousand marble temples), the largest monastery in the world in Eastern Tibet, where over 50,000 monks and nuns live, and many other remarkable places.

The approximate time of this event is 2 hours, depending on the number of questions.
